How much are Dues?

$100 per year

When Are Dues Due?

January 1st every year. Please pay before January 30th to avoid penalty of 15% interest, compounded per year.

Events

When's the Neighborhood yard sale?

Every second Saturday in May and every third Saturday in September, 8am - 2pm ET. These are the only permissible times to have a yard sale.

When's the next HOA meeting?

Every last Monday in March and last Monday in September at 7pm ET, usually at the Clark REMC community room. Signs will be posted in the neighborhood.

How do I Report an Issue?

What Happens After I Report an Issue?

Refer to the Bylaws for details, but generally the Architectural Review Committee (ARC) will schedule a time for all parties to meet and determine a resolution. The ARC & HOA are not obligated to handle or resolve issues in any other way not defined in the Bylaws. The ARC & HOA are not obligated to handle anonymously reported issues, or otherwise not reported according to the requirements in the Bylaws. 


Home improvements

When do I need to reach out to the HOA?

Any time there is a significant change to the exterior of your home. Common situations include, but not limited to: sheds, fences, dwelling siding, roofs, decks, and home extensions. The overall goal is to maintain strong property values for the neighborhood by ensuring that homeowners make quality investments in their property.

Where do I get a new mailbox?

If you're looking to replace the mailbox only, you'll need the standard US#1 black rural mailbox. The dimensions you should look for are 7" wide, 9" tall, and 19" deep. They can usually be purchased at Menards, Lowes, Home Depot, etc.

If you want to replace the entire mailbox including the post, you'll need to reach out to Eagle Sign & Design 901 E. Liberty Louisville, KY (address may have changed, but company is still the same).

What are the Guidelines for Adding or Replacing a Shed?

  1. Must be on a concrete slab with a 6×12 roof pitch.
  2. Roof style and color must match the dwelling.
  3. Siding must be vinyl to match the dwelling.
  4. Any shed over 10×12 requires a permit.
  5. The building must be at least 4 feet from side and rear property lines.
  6. Sheds 16 feet or longer must have additional footing poured (per county requirements).
  7. The shed must be approved by the HOA board before construction begins.

What are the Guidelines for Adding or Replacing a Fence?

Neighborhood Maintenance

One or more streetlights are out. How to get them fixed?

Contact Clark REMC. The HOA does not own the streetlights and is not responsible for their maintenance.

Why isn't my street plowed? When will it be plowed?

Contact the Floyd County Highway & Public Works Department. The HOA does not own the streets and is not responsible for their maintenance.

When will my street be repaved? There are potholes that need filled, etc.

There's an issue with the drainage ditch behind my house. What do I do?

Contact the Floyd County Stormwater Department and/or Highway & Public Works Department. The HOA does not own the land or ditch and is not responsible for maintenance.

Who's owns the forest area between Periwinkle Way and Koehler Place Drive?

The HOA owns the forested land between Periwinkle Way and Koehler Place Drive, and is responsible for its maintenance. The sidewalks and benches are for public/neighborhood use. If there are issues, please contact the HOA via any of the contact methods on this website.

Who's responsible for the trees along Payne Koehler Road?

The HOA owns the land along Payne Koehler Road and is responsible for its maintenance. The HOA pays a landscaping company to cut the grass and pick up the trash. If there are issues with the trees, please contact the HOA via any of the contact methods on this website.

Who owns the sidewalks? Why are they blocked?

The homeowner owns the portion of the sidewalk within their plot. The homeowner is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of their portion of the sidewalk, with oversight from the HOA similar to the oversight of fences, sheds, home exterior appearances, etc. The homeowner may block the sidewalk at their discretion, although the HOA discourages this because it can create safety concerns for pedestrians. Similarly, homeowners should trim/maintain vegetation so it doesn't block the sidewalks.


Miscellaneous

How are pets supposed to be handled outdoors?

Pets, including but not limited to dogs and cats, are not allowed to roam the neighborhood freely. All pets must be constrained by fences and/or leashes at all times. No exceptions. This is for the safety of neighbors and neighbors' pets alike.
